>> Early Marriage

hmm, it's been quite a while since the last post.. well, that's bcoz i'm quite bz this week... sooo many things to get done... there's biostat assignment, immuno presentation, which was cancelled bcoz the lecturer is still abroad (yesz, lega sbb xde presentation, but hopefully he wouldn't do it next week coz i'll not b around, hahaha...) Then, this weekend, i'll have my last midterm paper (what a good felling to think about it) I can't wait to finish the xm (don't care how difficult it might be, yg pntg xm dh abis... hahaha, cheh, apa la)

this evening i had a presentation for Parenting & Family Management class and our topic is sooo interesting - EARLY MARRIAGE... our group is supposed to propose this topic to the class... Honestly, in my own point of view, i support the idea of getting married early, very2 much... u know what, mayb u don't realize it but there's soooooooo many advantages of getting married early (i mean around 20-23), especially for those who thought that they have found their "Mr. or Mrs. Right"...

talking about this topic, i just remembered about a few of my friends (particularly my schoolmates & classmates) who are in a deep love relationship... some of them have been in a relationship for only a few years, but some others have been in a relationship for quite a long time (some of them dh b'cinta for 8 or 9 yrs, which is almost 10 years already) Then I thought something: what if in the end they are not together??? Don't u think they have wasted their youth time??? What's the purpose of being in a relationship all these while??? Have they thought about that??

Of course i'm not hoping such an ending for my friends' love story bcoz as a friend, i absolutely wish for their happiness... and i really love a few of them who are such a sweet and loving couples (examples are Mr. A and Miss A)... so it will be a waste if u and ur partner are not together in the end... Therefore, i think one of the solution for this is to get married early... bcoz the more late u get married, the more challenges and problems u'll b facing in ur relationship, which might result in a bad outcome, which is breaking up... So, i think that as u r now still in love with that person, it's not a bad idea to get married right??? I mean, get married right after u finish ur study or as soon as u got a job... At least if the relationship ends with a marriage, the relationship that u have build all these years is not wasted... even if one day u might get divorced, at least u got to live together for a while with the person that u have loved for many years... then, it's not going to be such waste... Don't u guyz think so?? hehehe...

well, i'm just xpressing my opinion on this matter since i'm still in the 'mood' of discussing it... no intention to offend anyone but if there is anyone who's offended, i really apologize for that, okay... mayb u'll think like this: "what does this Aya-san know?? She herself have never been in love before so what's her right to give advice to us??? Talking about this and that when in reality she doesn't have any idea on what she's talking about..." It's okay, u may and u can think that way about me, but i'm just giving my opinion and mayb a lil' bit of advice (perhaps) to u all, especially my friends whom i loved soooooo much... finally, i really hope my friends who have been sweet couples all these years will have a happy ending of their love story... hope ur relationship will end with a very happy marriage and be together forever, Amin... Wishing u guyz & girlz all the best... & kalo dh nk kawin jgn lupe jemput aku k...

Salam Aya-san,

Genki desuka? It has been ages since we talked to each other, no? And I am pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon your blog right here. How's life so far? How's your study?

I wish to say something about the your post regarding early marriage...

Aya-san,

I think this a great post; well written and well argued! :) You made me smile when you say something about "8 or 9 years" relationship; reminds me a whole lot during the heydays of our school days. Hehe... yup, I can't agree more with you: why not marry early once one has the means to marry?

But there's a caveat in our cultural context that may impede this view. Well these are common reasons (or excuses) I can flash up out in my mind:
1. enga arimasenyo! (no money, you know!)
2. mom and dad don't allow me to marry for now. I'm "too small" to marry.
3. kinda weird... my friends are still bujang what... and they hv bf n gf. so, why not follow the trend?
4. what? i couldn't bear the responsibility of marriage just yet... anak? bini? laki? aha... too much for this small mind. mau enjoy dulu...
5. malam pertama? uiks... thinking that alone makes me feel extreme goosebumps and bloods pulsing endlessly 'round my temple. sik mok nikah dolok, takut!

Perhaps if the perception about marriage is changed, then can only the society change. The current prevailing rule seems to assume that being 'in a relationship' is sweeter than being 'married'.

And oso... sometimes I think it's kinda a weird thing happening in our society right now. B4 kawen, rindok jak beromantik (pegang2 tangan n whatnot). Lepas kawen, well...

Bak kata Senario:
"Sebelum kahwin dia janji nak hidup sama,
Sesudah berumahtangga hilang ntah ke mana..."

By the way, how about you? Bila gik mok kawen... hehehee <--- soalan bonus tahap cipan. Dah ada yang berkenan di hati nak? <--- ahha, another soalan bonus tahap cipan.

Okla Aya-san, I guess I'm gonna pen off for now. Oh by the way...

Anatawa nihongono benkyowo shimasuka? anatano nihongowa iidesuyo! (You learn japanese? your japanese is good!)

Genki desu.. well, thanks a lot 4 ur comment. What u said were absolutely true. We should change... no, PEOPLE should change their perception on that matter, especially on early marriage kan??

To think, it IS good to get married early.. cthnya: if u get married at around 20, then at age 40, how many children and mayb grandchildren do u think u would have??? hehehe..

Well, for me, i have no comment.. nak b'kenan ya mayb nang dah ada tp x tauk la mun org ya pun b'kenan juak ngan saya... hehehe... But don't worry, if I am going to get married, insyaAllah I'll invite u to the reception, hehehe...

Hahaha, I only learn Japanese by hearing them speaking in the movies, so I only know those few simple words... Nyway, i think ur japanese is even better than mine.
